Hi List, Has anyone experienced any inter-faith marriages around circa 1830 in the Hunter Region. My ancestors where first married in 1830 in a Maitland CofE Church and then again re-married in 1831 in an RC church prior to the baptism of their first born. The current assumption is: - no RC church existed at the time of their initial marriage Can anyone confirm this ?, (or does anyone have any other plausible suggestions) For example: Could the spouse be CofE and the bride be RC. The first RC church in Maitland opened in 1835. Joe
