Hi Ian I have a family that married in Maitland in 1855. The husband was Protestant and the wife was Roman Catholic. They were married by the Roman Catholic Minister. Apparently the male children were supposed to be brought up as Protestant and the females the wife could bring up as she wished. In the end all the children ended up being Roman Catholic!!!
