This is my first posting to the list. I would be interested in hearing fromo anyone researching Darby & Timothy Ryan brothers who were sentenced in Cork Ire in 1827 and arrived NSW 8th Nov 1827. Darby was assigned to John Turnbull at Portland Head and Timothy to Fanny Day of Pitt Town. I have nothing further on Darby, maybe a death registered for hin in 1880 Windsor NSW. Timothy seems to be known as Edward married Ellen Denahy in 1853 Maitland and lived Warkworth NSW he is my 3xgreat grandfather. Look forward to any further info on these two people. Hi Keith Just so your records are correct, Darby and Timothy were tried in Tipperary on the 7 April 1827 for abduction and not tried in Cork. My records also state that Darby received a Conditional Pardon on 1 July 1842 and Timothy on 1 February 1843. The Conditional Pardons do state that both men were from Tipperary as does the Indent for the transport. You are probably aware that both received a Life sentence and not a 7 year one as stated in the 1828 NSW Census.
