I found 2 Darby Ryans in the 1828 Census, your one (who arrived in 1827) is shown as 20 yrs old, Catholic, Government Servant, Ship was Eliza, transported in 1827 for 7 years, occupation Labourer, district was Portland Head and other names used included 'Turnbull'. Timothy shown as 21 yrs, arriving 1827 on Eliza, Catholic, same sentence of 7 yrs, Labourer, district was Pitt Town, other surnames 'Day'. Will look at my other resources for you now. -----Original Message----- From: aus-nsw-hills-hawkesbury-hunter-valley-bounces@rootsweb.com [mailto:aus-nsw-hills-hawkesbury-hunter-valley-bounces@rootsweb.com] On Behalf Of Victor & Keith Sent: Tuesday, 6 October 2009 12:44 PM To: AUS-NSW-HILLS-HAWKESBURY-HUNTER-VALLEY@rootsweb.com Subject: [HHHV] Darby & Timothy Ryan Convicts This is my first posting to the list. I would be interested in hearing fromo anyone researching Darby & Timothy Ryan brothers who were sentenced in Cork Ire in 1827 and arrived NSW 8th Nov 1827. Darby was assigned to John Turnbull at Portland Head and Timothy to Fanny Day of Pitt Town. I have nothing further on Darby, maybe a death registered for hin in 1880 Windsor NSW. Timothy seems to be known as Edward married Ellen Denahy in 1853 Maitland and lived Warkworth NSW he is my 3xgreat grandfather. Look forward to any further info on these two people.
