Further to Bill's posting regarding the death of William Wood 1886. Rev William Wood was the rector at St. James Anglican Church at Pitt Town 1869-1886. As mentioned he died 24th February 1886 and is buried in the St James Churchyard at Pitt Town. The verse on headstone reads: "A vigorous preacher and a homely wit" His wife, Mary Wood is buried in the same plot, she died the previous year on the 31st October 1885.
