I drove past there today, there was no for sale or sold by sign that I could see but the invasive vegetation has recently been cleared from the cemetery. It has been many years since I went down that side of the river and St Josephs was a large church for the area. Regards Elizabeth
Hi Elizabeth and all, Have watched this thread with interest. Is the church and graveyard in question the one that's on the left hand side of the road when driving from Webb's Creek ferry crossing to St. Albans? Early this year my daughter and I went looking for them, being interested in the cemetery, but it was so overgrown we didn't dare enter it. And almost missed the old church as we couldn't see it through the trees and shrubs. I think it's a shame that both the church and cemetery have been allowed to deteriorate as they're part of the Hawkesbury heritage. I sincerely hope the least that will happen is the clearing of the trees and shrubbery around the church as well as the cemetery. I guess the cost of renovating the church would be exorbitant.
