    3. Hello Margaret. As you don't give a place in Scotland, I assume that you don't know it. I'd expect that the (usually) TWO separate passenger lists for that ship's arrival in oz would give the places of their origins more precisely. I'd also suggest searching in the Immigration Deposit Journal INDEXES issued by Pastkeys on microfiche -- held in many oz public libraries; which then direct you to the relevant Deposit Journals themselves -- also held by many oz public libraries as part of the NSW ARK from NSW State Records. That may indicate other relations in the colony etc. For Scotland, I'd suggest googling for Scots Origins, and using their free search facilities linked in with the IGI on the Mormon/LDS site (familysearch.org) If you search there under each child's name, also providing the parents' names, you should hopefully zero-in on the correct family and its location. When you are fairly certain that you have the right family; then look at the bottom of the RESULT of the search, to find the BATCH NUMBER for the relevant birth/christening entry. It will be preceded by a C. (e.g. C114477, C113977, C119682, C119311, C119587 -- I am guessing from my own preliminary search that ONE of the above might be relevant to your searches). THEN you can do an ADVANCED search of the IGI on familysearch.org, using merely the surname of BOYD and the relevant Batch Number, and you might find more than you hoped for. Good luck. Ray. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Margaret Dunn" <gmdunn45@optusnet.com.au> > I am a new subscriber and am researching the Boyd family. 3. Hello Ray, Thanks for the info, I will certainly follow through with some of your suggestions. I do know where John and Margaret Boyd were born, and where they married in Scotland, but have not as yet tried to trace their parents.
