Dear Betty, No sorry, I don't know of a Samuel Boyd amongst my Boyds. I haven't been researching for very long and haven't as yet traced my John Boyd back to Scotland. I don't know why he would have gone to Newcastle in 1855 - perhaps he already had some family member there - maybe even Samuel Boyd Snr. I still have a long way to go!!!
