There would have been an Inquest because of the head injury, so have you looked for a news report of this? It is most unlikely that you would find an Inquest file, as most did not survive for that period, but the newspaper report might be found on the National Library website. I am not sure if that era has yet been digitised. Have you checked his Probate Packet at Kingswood? If he is not listed on the Claim a Convict site, he probably was not a convict, but may show up on www.records.nsw.gov.au in a name check for both shipping and Probate. Sincerely,Bill
