    3. I am trying to find details of the original owner/licensee of the Macquarie Arms Hotel in Windsor NSW.  I was advised it was Henry Fleming (son of soldier Joseph Fleming).   The Col. Secretary's Index states that Henry Fleming lost his license in 1819,  but then I found another site that stated the original owner was a Mr Fitzgerald. Can anyone help.  Many thanks Sandra Burton __________________________________________________________________________________ Win 1 of 4 Sony home entertainment packs thanks to Yahoo!7. 3. Hello Sandra >From The National Library Newspaper site: http://ndpbeta.nla.gov.au/ Saturday 22 July 1815 Sydney Gazette and New South Wales Advertiser "PUBLIC NOTICE.-A large and commodious House having been some Time since erected, and lately completed, at a very considerable Ex pence, in the TOWN of WINDSOR, foran INN ; and a suitable Person having been engaged by the Pro prietor lor keeping the same, Notice is hereby given, that the said lim, called " The Macquarie Arms," and kept by Thomas Hanson, who formerly was an Innkeeper in England, will be opened for the Accommodation of the Public on Monday the 31st of this present month of July" Sydney Gazette and New South Wales Advertiser Saturday 29 July 1815 reported that the "spacious and commodious new inn at Windsor called the Macquarie Arms was opened by the Governor on Wednesday 26th instant" July 1815. It also reports "Mr Hansen who has taken on himself the duties of the Innkeeper" ........its quite an interesting article. Neither article really says who owned it. Perhaps further searches of the newspapers might help. Good luck Rhonda ----- Original Message ----- From: "Sandra Burton" <elseywoo@yahoo.com> To: <AUS-NSW-HILLS-HAWKESBURY-HUNTER-VALLEY@rootsweb.com> Sent: Sunday, November 29, 2009 8:18 PM Subject: [HHHV] Macquarie Arms Hotel >I am trying to find details of the original owner/licensee of the Macquarie >Arms Hotel in Windsor NSW. > > I was advised it was Henry Fleming (son of soldier Joseph Fleming).
