    3. Dear Lister, I have been through a lot of hard copy SMH in the last six months. While these are 20 odd years later than your incident, I have been finding that in the "Country News" section, which can run from under a quarter of a colum to over a column. Sub Headings are the town, not necessarily the town of the incident, but the nearest town, mainly where they had a "correspondent". If you go to the National Library website you will see there are a few different papers being put on line. Come of the Optical Character Recognition is not the best, but it is a real start. Just to give you some idea of how quickly this is happening, last Tuesday SMH was up to 1907, today it is 1920 I am reliably told. You may be lucky to get one in the local paper and one in the SMH. Look for a report of the incident, also for an Inquest a couple of days after the incident. In the later papers, at the end of the "Country News" somtimes there are full reports taken from a local paper, giving credit to the origiinal paper. Sincerely, Bill > Interesting to read about this.
