Hi Yvonne, I am not of the Bowen or O'Brien family but have a little information about the families as they are connected into my family line mainly through the Doherty's but also the Gallagher's. Evelyn Gallagher was married to William Archibald Bowen and if my information is correct, Allan Michael would be William Archibald's brother. What information do you require? To Gwen and List Thank you for your reply. I am researching Mahoneys from Richmond but my inerest in the Maitland area is because: I have a photo, who I am sure is my great great grandfather, Thomas Boyle and his wife Mary Ann and the photographic studio is in West Maitland. From dating the photo it appears to be around 1880. The Studio is STAMP BROS, High St West Maitland. I have since found out that Thomas's real father died at 30 yrs at Richmond but the mother married James Mahoney from Windsor in 1863 and then moved to Qld about 1864. James Mahoney was from Tipperary Ireland. I wondered why Thomas Boyle, who lived in Qld by then, was in West Maitland in 1880s. I thought there might be Mahoney family or Boyle's there from Sharyn --------------------------------- Yahoo! Messenger for SMS- Always be connected to your Messenger Friends

Hello Robert, Re Taylor of West Maitland, NSW: The following profile is found in The Aldine Centennial History of NSW, 1888 by F. Morrison: [under "West Maitland"] "W. TAYLOR AND SON are one of the largest firms of builders and contractors in this district, and employ on an average from 40 to 50 hands, and sometimes more. The business was established in 1882 in a very small way, the firm at that time only employing one hand, but steady application and ability have increased the business to its present dimensions. The firm have erected a number of pulic buildings throughout the district, amongst others being the Benevolent Asylum, Morris' buildings, Wylie's buildings in Maitland, Hardcastle's Hotel, the Court-house at Scone, and St Bridget's Church at Branxton, as well as a number of private residences. They also made extensive alterations and additions to St Stephen's Church and Parsonage, East Maitland. The firm are large dealers in cedar, sometimes as much as 50,000 feet passing through their hands in a month. Mr W. Taylor, the senior partner, was born in Somersetshire, England, but Mr Charles (his son) is a native of West Maitland." Hope this is your William Taylor. Robert, if you are not familiar with the Index to NSW Births, Deaths and Marriages online, see http://www.bdm.nsw.gov.au/ Good luck, Gwen
Robert, They're are all mine! They are the sons of William Taylor my g.grandfather. What do you need to know! Jack married Elizabeth Russell in 1894 and died in 9143. They didn't have children. Walter was born in 1859 and died in 1895. He never married. Arthur was born in 1871 and died in 1945. He married Gertrude CARTER in 1895. They had three children, Mabel 1896, Arthur 1898 and Kenneth 1905. The three children produce families that I will need to down load for you. I don't know any of them personally but perhaps they might read you email. Let me know if you need more. And, G'day.
