Hello all, I am retrying to see if anyone can give me info on my convict rels; Joseph Owen and Eliza Harvey who married in 1838 and had their 2 daughters Elizabeth and Sarah Ann that I know of at the Patterson. How when where and why they came to be there I have no idea. I know they were married in Newcastle in 1838. Joseph had a CF and Eliza was bonded at the time of their marriage. On the arrival of the railway, 1855, this toll gate became a railway crossing gate. Metal traps and earth pitts were used to trap Dingoes on this farm, road and toll gate. People not wanting to pay or pass ( for whatever reason) through these Dog Trap Gates were sometimes caught in these traps. Again thank you all.
