Hello list members I am wondering if there is anyone out there who went to Lisarow School in the years 1951 and 1952. I attended there in those years. At the time I was living with my grandparents, Frank & Meme Pryor. Frank and his brother owned the general store/post office Pryor Bros which still stands today. I have most of my school photos from the other schools I attended but there are none from 1951/52. Perhaps there were no school photos taken in those years. I would be very interested in hearing from anyone who went to Lisarow School in those years or anyone who has relevant photos. I have vague memories of a "Maypole" and dancing at perhaps a school fete or some like event. I think the teacher I had was Mrs Brodie and perhaps the Principal was Mr Snow or Mr Snowden. Hi Vicki, I do have some photos from Lisarow school, but will have to scan them over the weekend. Not sure which year, but looking at my brother in-laws ages would say photos would be around 1951/52. Actually new owners of the General Store recently placed a 1933 photo of Lisarow school students in the local newspaper and right smack in the middle was my Father in-law, my husband and one of his brothers then went to the store and identified some of the kids in the photo and were also given a guided tour of the shop. While there they relayed many stores of their visits to Pryor's General Store when they were kids, they were telling me they used to get a big bag of broken biscuits for 2 bob, also cashed in the soft drink bottles in exchange for sweets......and a few other stories !!!!!
