    3. Thank you for your very generous offer, David. I would be delighted to know what the land looks like now. I'll contact you off list. The Geographical Names Board web site indicates that until 1966 there was no central and official record of placenames; that they were known locally by various names and that unless locals kept records it is not known how places, localities, creeks, rivers, etc., got their names. It would seem that local historical groups are a good source for this information as the Geographical Names Board quotes them sometimes when citing the source for the official name adopted. A search of the historical records of the NSW Land Titles Office would probably reveal a name. When the original subdivision was made it must have had at least a locality name. The Rev. Alfred Glennie was the minister who baptised and buried the Creighton children in the 1850s. The earliest baptism I have is 31 March 1854 and the place where William and Sarah Creighton lived was MAIDEN BRUSH. The Rev. Glennie's church was the Church of England, Gosford.
