    3. Hi Marg and List The 1841 census of NSW makes mention of Lawrence McDonald and wife Cecelia ( Waters)and three daughter living at Blue Gum Flat. the family is also mentioned on a web site about the Ourimbah/Blue Gum Flat area. One daughter Bridget married John Grant son of Thomas Grant and Ellen Jennings. The other daughter Catherine never married but I can find no mention of the eldest child or the death of Lawrence McDonald anywhere.I have the death certificate of his wife. She died in Sydney in 1875. No mention of her husband or any previous marriage, but it did state that she had nine children. The only other fact is that daughter Bridget was born at Jamberoo about 1836 and daughter Catherine was born about 1833 in Sydney Lawrence & Cecelia were married in Sydney in 1832. I believe the eldest child is the daughter born to Cecelia Waters in 1831,Baptised Mary Anne waters, and Mary Anne Doyle on the NSW BD&M indexes her father was Timothy Doyle and sponsors on her baptism record were Bridget Larkin and Patrick Connell. There is further mention on the Ourimbah web site, of the death of McDonald's daughter of a dreadful illness that swept the area, and McDonald was a saw mill engineer.I don't know if it relates to my family though. Any suggestions as to where to look for more information regards Faye
