Hi Marg, I wish that old building was still Gosford South PO! It was in a handy location for many people. It underwent various alterations and additions over the decades. In the 1880s the postmaster's house was built close on the southern side of it, a piece of ground that in more modern times became the site of the telephone exchange. I have a "real photo" postcard of Gosford post office, made c.1908 - it's beautifully sharp. A policeman in uniform and helmet stands on the footpath in front of it, smiling for the camera. That's the wonder of photographs - the way they capture actual pieces of the past. I got a real kick from finding the card and buying it. A strong magnifying glass (say 10X) put over an old photo may bring up all kinds of other fascinating detail not noticed by the naked eye. Regards, Gwen
