    1. Who was your earliest Central Coast Ancestor?
    2. Kay Vinson
    3. Hi everyone, I read all the posts but don't usually have much to say, but I would like to reply to this post. My earliest Central Coast ancestor was Ebenezer JONES. Ebenezer and Elizabeth (his first wife Elizabeth Whitehouse) came to Australia 0n the "WILLIAM SHARPLES" which arrived in Sydney from Liverpool England 0n the 29th Jan 1842. Ebenezer paid 58 pounds for his family's fare.At the time of their arrival they had three children. Thomas age 9, Mary age 5, and another son Price age 3 years. Shortly after they arrived Elizabeth gave birth to another daughter who they called Elizabeth. Ebenezer was engaged by a MR MOORE a Timber merchant of Moore Place to labour with rations at a rate to be determined in proportion to labour in the Brisbane Waters area of NSW. From this ship's record it would appear that Ebenezer settled in the Brisbane Waters area in 1842. Ebenezer is my GGG Grandfather from his second wife Ellen Elizabeth CHALLIS. His children from that marriage were, Maria Jane JONES (my ancestor), Edward Thomas, Emma and William F. Ebenezer was killed in 1866 when a tree fell on him. Maria Jane JONES married Thomas COLLINS at East Gosford 19th November 1877. They had 9 children. From what I know of Thomas COLLINS he lead an interesting life and it seems he fathered children to at least 2 other women at the same time that he was married to Maria. Thomas and Ebenezer were both involved in the logging industry. regards, Kay Vinson
