Hi Marg Guilty as charged. I have a fair bit of information on the family of Thomas Grant & Ellen jennings and stay connected to the list as I am now researching the families of their children. Just always looking for a little snippett. I posted about a week ago that I had discovered a letter from Alfred Glennie in material donated to the Mitchell Library that was written to Mary Ann Orpen. Mary was widowed in 1866 and had written the Rev Glennie asking for a reference. One of the letters was a letter of recomendation and the other was a personal one to Mary, in it he asks her to be remembered to other old friends at Brisbane water , in particualr Mrs Cottrile and Mrs Piper.(spelling used in the letter) Mary marrried her second husband Henry Darling in 1885 and they had only one daughter Jessie Darling (born 1873) who married James W Gay. After contacting the doner of the material, I discovered that Jessie's two daughter's had remained unmarried and died in 1980 and 1994, Both were school teachers The doner was a nurse at the nursing home where both ladies were staying and there were no direct ancestors to inherit the material Mary was the eldest daughter of Thomas Grant & Ellen jennings, Other families that the children married into were Brennan, Norman, Mcdonald, Cadby, Walls Fitzpatrick,Taylor, Lucas Henderson, and Clarke regards faye
