    3. Dear Marg, Re that item from the Gosford Times of 20 October 1905 as under: " Good progress is being made with the re-erection of the old Church of England building on the West Gosford site. The addition [of] the old/new structure will be quite an adornment to the picturesque church grounds". This of course referred to old stone Christ Church which originally stood on the south-western corner of George and Webb Streets at East Gosford. In 1905 it was moved stone by stone to its present site which is next to the units at No. 1 Mann Street. It was recently restored and renamed "St Mary's". In those days it was common for people to refer to Gosford Proper as "West Gosford" - this is often seen in old Gosford newspaper reports, and can often be misleading and puzzling for readers. Best regards, Gwen
