He is one of the 'missing from records' The CC FHS has been doing a great deal of research into early settlers of this area that were here by the time the 1841 census was taken Was over at our library yesterday asked whether Lawrence McDONALD had ever surfaced........... no ...... ( Have looked him up before some time back ) > I believe the eldest child is the daughter born to > Cecelia Waters in 1831,Baptised Mary Anne waters, and > Mary Anne Doyle on the NSW BD&M indexes her father was > Timothy Doyle and sponsors on her baptism record were > Bridget Larkin and Patrick Connell. > > There is further mention on the Ourimbah web site, of > the death of McDonald's daughter of a dreadful illness > that swept the area, and McDonald was a saw mill > engineer.I don't know if it relates to my family though. > Any suggestions as to where to look for more information Info on the population around here 1850 - 1870 is abit thin on the ground as no surviving newspapers . Court Cases and bench books are a source . Are only 2 brief early refs to Laurence in these records Wonder what his wife did to support herself ? Bye MargM Central Coast List Admin
