Have just been rung by a Gosford local asking me to see if I can find out anything about the hospital in which he was born in 1928. He says it was called Khandala though he is not sure of the spelling. That's the main thing he wants to know. It was more than a maternity hospital as one brother died there aged 19 mths and he knew of others hospitalised there. It was run by Sr Ricketts and Sr Maxwell and Dr George Duncan went there. He was nearly called Duncan Maxwell after 2 of them!! The house is still standing and was used as a private home from WW2 onwards. The Lees family lived there during the war years. It is at 19 ? Hills St on the right heading north just past the Physio place and opposite the Hills St medical centre. Can anyone shed any light. Thanks, Judy Gifford
