It's hardly early, but my memories of growing up in the 1940s and 50's in Gosford was that there were only 2 doctors- Duncan for the protestants and Dwyer for the other colour!!! I was born in Hinemoa private Hospital, not far from the Gosford sailing club, now surviving as flats I think. It was run by 2 nursing sisters who were also sisters called Winterbottom. A nephew Kevin Winterbottom still lives in Frederick St. Others of my era were born in Roma Hospital in Albany St and I think there was another similar one in North Gosford area (Pam Williams would know!) Judy Gifford nee Rogers whose other local interests are SMITH/CAIN of East Gosford

First you have to find her ! Have phoned her 1/2 doz times in the past week or so and no body home Thought perhaps shes must be tied up with the Olympics ? If you see her ask her to phone me Records of medios who where about in 1940s & 50s are also useful as theres very little about in the way of records for this time . Appears the first Dr here was a Dr Robert AULD.
