    1. WRENCH Reply to Marg

    3. Wow Marg thanks for replying, re THOMAS WINN believed to be born near the Hawkesbury on 6/6 1896 and there is no birth records for that name. His WW1 record recorded him as HENRY JAMES WRENCH [Thomas Winn} Born 6/6/1891 in Gosford NSW. What does this doc say for name/s of next of kins ???????FRANCIS STEVENS (brother in law) My search found Francis Stevens married (in 1904), Dads sister Ethel May WRENCH (dob 1878). Last week I received all Dad's ww1 war records and it all points to the facts we know, and the stories Dad told us - so I figure he was born a WRENCH and changed his name to WINN sometime between 1919 and 1942 (probably while in UK) No-one yet knows why. Dad met and married Mum in UK returned to Oz in 1948 the migration records with my Mum and 2 elder siblings on the boat recorded him as NORMAN JAMES WINN. What about your parents marriage cert ??? Do you have a copy ?? NO - MUM HASNT A COPY AND DOESNT KNOW THE DATE (KNOWS THE CHURCH IN LONDON THOUGH) MUM IS 82 AND SO I'M TREADING SOFTLY, SOFTLY......BUT MUM IS FASCINATED ....HAS NO IDEA ABOUT THE WRENCH OR NORMAN WINN CONNECTION THOUGH. DAD WAS 28 YEARS OLDER THAN MUM AND RATHER SECRETIVE TOO. THEY SEPARATED WHEN I WAS 4, THOUGH WE ALWAYS HAD CONTACT. What does this say for names of your fathers parents ? FROM MY SEARCH THEY ARE JOEL AND HARRIET S WRENCH. A HARRIET WRENCH DIED IN 1895 (this accords with Dads story of being very young when his mother died) > > Dad lost his mother early on and was one of the youngest in a large family. MY SEARCH INDICATES Henry J Wrench's siblings to be 1) John J WRECH dob 1877 2) Ethel May dob 1878 3) Albert George dob 1880 4) Fredrick William dob 1883 5) Henry James (DAD) dob 1891 > He was brought up by his Dad hovever I think his dad died when he was in> early teens. Dad said he lived in a cave on the Hawkesbury River with his> father when things 'were really bad'. He told me his parents (my paternal> grandparents) were buried in unmarked graves at the Yarramalong Cemetry on a rise beside a Church I tried to find the Church 2 years ago - it was> gone! Apparently burnt down a few years ago. MUM THINKS THIS WAS NARARA CEMETRY, NOT YARRAMALONG. DID THAT BURN DOWN? IS THAT CEMETRY ON THE WESTERN SIDE OF THE OLD HIGHWAY BETWEEN GOSFORD AND WYONG ON A HILLSIDE (OR SLOPE)? Will check that out. Cemetery records shoud still exist . But first you need to know who youre looking for MARG, IS IT POSSIBLE TO ESTABLISH IF THERE WAS A BURIAL FOR DADS PARENTS OR HIS SIBLINGS? ID LIKE TO START WITH JOEL AND HARRIET S WRENCH WHO I BELIEVE ARE DADS PARENTS? AS DAD NOMINATED C OF E ON ALL HIS PAPERS I WOULD START WITH THAT ASSUMPTION, THOUGH DAD SAID THEY WERE IN UNMARKED GRAVES. MAYBE NARARA.....

Correct , your Dad was the youngest A HARRIET WRENCH DIED IN 1895 At Gosford in 1895 ref #1347 > > > > Dad lost his mother early on and was one of the youngest in a > large family. He was the youngest > MY SEARCH INDICATES Henry J Wrench's siblings to be > > 1) John J WRECH dob 1877 b Waterloo , m Rose MOORE 1900 /2816 Sydney > 2) Ethel May dob 1878 b Waterloo m Francis B STEVENS 1904 / 5038 Sydney > 3) Albert George dob 1880 b Central cumberland m Catherines COLLINS St Leonards 1902 > 4) Fredrick William dob 1883 b Gosford m Vera C DOYNE St Leonards 1909 > 5) Henry James (DAD) dob 1891 Gosford > > > He was brought up by his Dad hovever I think his dad died when he > was in> early teens. No......... Joel WRENCH d aged 82 in 1932 ref # 5966 Chatswood parents names N/K. He didnt leave a will . He told me his parents (my > paternal> grandparents) were buried in unmarked graves at the Yarramalong > Cemetry on a rise beside a Church I tried to find the Church 2 years ago Think it highly unlikely someone whose death registered at Chatswood be buried anywhere up here. Far more likely to have gone to either Northern suburbs at North Ryde or Rookwood > it was> gone! Apparently burnt down a few years ago. MUM THINKS THIS WAS > NARARA CEMETRY, Not aware of any cemetery ever being at Narara NOT YARRAMALONG. DID THAT BURN DOWN? IS THAT CEMETRY ON > THE WESTERN SIDE OF THE OLD HIGHWAY BETWEEN GOSFORD AND WYONG ON A HILLSIDE > (OR SLOPE)? That discription could fit Lisarow Cemetery ?? > > IS IT POSSIBLE TO ESTABLISH IF THERE WAS A BURIAL FOR DADS PARENTS OR HIS > SIBLINGS? Of course it is.
