Hello over in Central Coast, I hope this is the right way to send stuff! Im starting out and trying to locate my Dad's family and story. THOMAS WINN was born near the Hawkesbury on 6/6 1896 and there is no birth records for that name. His WW1 record recorded him as HENRY JAMES WRENCH [Thomas Winn} Born 1891. He met and married Mum in UK (went back during the WW2. On arrival back in Oz in 1948 the records with my Mum and 2 elder siblings on the boat recorded him as NORMAN JAMES WINN. Dad lost his mother early on and was one of the youngest in a large family. He was brought up by his Dad hovever I think his dad died when he was in early teens. Dad said he lived in a cave on the Hawkesbury River with his father when things 'were really bad'. He told me his parents (my paternal grandparents) were buried in unmarked graves at the Yarramalong Cemetry on a rise beside a Church I tried to find the Church 2 years ago - it was gone! Apparently burnt down a few years ago. So I would like to contact anyone with info on WINN or WRENCH from over there. Can anyone help please? Also I was born in Albany St East Gosford in 1952 lived on a farm at Mardi (back of Wyong) where the Mardi dam and highway have been cut through our old property. I spent my youth in Toukley went to school in Kanwal and Toukley and moved away in 1964. If anyone is doing anything on that area Id be interested. There is a huge Westfields Shoppng centre a few mins north from Tuggarah Railway station . Opposite is the Woodbury Park estate, whic is a massive housing developement that streaches from there almost to the Wyong river I spent my youth in Toukley went to school in Kanwal and > Toukley and moved away in 1964. There a decent road bridge now between Kanwal and Toukely where Tuggarah Lake goes into Budgewoi Lake Bye Marg Morters NSW Central Coast Mailing List Gosford, NSW Australia [email protected]
