    3. Gosford C of E records: Emanuel Charles RAMOS married Rachael ANSON on 24.12.1855 with consent of parent. Bride and groom bachelor and spinster, both signed with a cross. Witnesses were Joseph Miller and Margaret Miller, both of Maiden Scrub. A son John Charles was born to them on 17.9.1856 and baptised on the 26th of the following month. The father was then a sawyer of Erina. Another son Mathew Francis was born to them on 4.12.1858, baptised 9.1.1859, father still a sawyer of Erina. There is a brief mention in "The Journals of Rev Alfred Glennie" to the fact that he visited the Ramos home when he rode around the Erina district etc making calls on parishioners in 1857. No more details given. The name sounds Spanish doesn't it? Gwen

    3. Hi Gwen, Thank you for your reply. Your info added to what I had. If you should come across any more info please advise if you will. Emannuel Charles Ramos came from Valparaise/o Chile. They moved to QLD after the birth of their 2nd child. No further info. John Anson & his son Samuel each owned 40 acre lots at Erina under the 1863 Conditional Purchase Act.
