If you look at the fiches of the UK Regimental BDM, you may find something there. Any births, marriages or deaths will also be listed on NSW BDM, but you must have the correct spelling. I found several births of children of an ancestor who was with the British Army in Sydney in the 1830's. Good luck! I want to confirm some information on our family tree. I believe that there is a URL which allows us to search for the names of military personnel serving in Australia. My special interest is in the 80th British Army Regiment which was stationed at Wollongong about 1850. I am aware of a book available from Gould entitled How to trace your Military Ancestors in Australia and NewZealand by R Montague (Not sure of spelling) but since it is only 144 pages, obviously it only confirms the regiments and does not contain a list of military personnel. Any assistance would be appreciated, even to be told I am on a wild goose chase. > > TIA > > Janet > >
