I have been searching in vain for the death of my great grandmother Mary Ann James who married my great grandfather, Herbert Gent Huddleston, in Forbes on Dec 16 1862. She was widowed in 1874 and married John Adolf Peterson in Albury in 1880. The children of her first marriage appear in Geelong as early as 1887, and I think she may have died in Albury between 1882 (when she and John Adolf had a stillborn child), and 1887. I have tried all the obvious sources - BDMs in NSW and Vic, and cemeteries in Vic. I am now wondering if she is in the Albury Cemetery, and wondered if anyone can tell me how I can access that information. Many thanks, Alwynne alwynnem@melbpc.org.au
Alwynne, You possibly have tried this, but did she marry a 3rd time? I had this happen in my family and after much wondering finally located my long lost ancestor. On another occassion I helped a relative find their ancestor through the deaths of two husbands and 3 marriages. My wife also had an elusive gr gr grandmother who married twice more after the death of her 1st husband from whom my wife is a descendant.
