    3. Hi Allan, Do not want to get you hopes up too high, but we MAY have interests in common. I am also researching the name Jamieson from Victoria and the name William figures quite prominently in the research I have done so far. It is quite coincidental that I was born in Leeton NSW and lived there until the age of 8 or 9. However my late father's family had settled there pre-WW1, having relocated from Broken Hill. I have some cemetery records from Leeton involving the name Jamieson, but I will have to ask your forbearance as I am doing very little until after Christmas except clear my mail box as hotmail hates its users having much in their box. It would help if you could tell me the names of your William's parents and his place of birth if it is otherwise than in Victoria. I gather from your email that the family lived in Pyramid Hill, but please advise if William was born elsewhere. I will certainly check the cemetery records for you, but sorry, you will have to wait. If you are not too busy with Santa, you would make it easier for me to check things for you if you could give me any further information as requested in paragraph 3. On Boxing Day I will be present at a family gathering to see if the name Wealands means anything to my elderly cousin who lived in Leeton much longer than I did. I will also phone her sister who cannot come to the Boxing Day function. She worked on the Leeton Irrigator, the local newspaper at the time. Hope to hear from you', Happy Christmas and good researching in 2004 Janet, now living in Sydney ----- Original Message ----- From: "allan" <aoki@southcom.com.au> To: <AUS-NSW-CENTRAL-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Tuesday, December 23, 2003 3:40 PM Subject: [NSW-C] JAMIESON WEALANDS > > > > I am a grandson of William JAMIESON (B. 1857, D. 1924) who lived in > Victoria, mainly in or near Pyramid Hill. 3. Hi Allan I see you are researching Jamieson, I have been researching a Janet/Jesse JAMIESON in Tasmania for a long time , with not much luck. She came to Australia as a convict 1847 and on her papers there was a brother and sister who where suppose to have come out. She was from Dundee in Scotland She married Henry HARRIS in 1851 Would she be from your family.
