Greeting all My ancestor Thomas Gillham/Gilham/Gillam died at Euroka 5/10/1881. The death was reg at Grenfell by his son Thomas Edward Gillam and lists only males and females as issue. The son Thomas Edward Gillam later died 19/4/1919 at Grenfell and the cert. states a marriage to Sarah Burrett. I could find no marriage registered. When Sarah Gillam died 17/8/1923 at Grenfell the informant was her nephew? W J Causer of Bimbi . I would like to know about Euroka (a property?) and has Thomas Gillam Snr had other children I don't know of and what was the connection to the Causer family. Thanks for reading this far. Viv, Euroka is a property at Walgett, used to be owned by Frederick Wolseley (inventor of the shearing machine. Don't know why the death would be registered at Grenfell. Does anyone know of a Euroka in the Grenfell district? I would be interested in any replies on this. Euroka was a station in the Grenfell district and the Burrett family [ with various spellings] were there. There is a bush grave of Janet Burritt on Euroka station. She died 1868, aged 47, the wife of Thomas . My interest is in the son of this couple, Joseph Burritt 1858-1900 who married Maragret McCallum in 1880. Thanks for the reply, Kjele. I had previously thought Euroka was in the Megalong Valley until another rellie said he seemed to think it was in the Cowra/Grenfell district.
