    3. Sue, I don't have that pubn but I have another one, IRONBARK CHIPS by George ALTHOFER pub in 1980 by Macquarie Publications Dubbo. It is a combination of old yarns about locals and places in the area and has a few pencil drawings of old buildings and a couple of group shots. Unfortunately (and typically) it is not indexed and there are not too many names under the photos. I had a quick scan but couldn't see the WALKER name mentioned. Do you have a first name or specific business or property name etc. and I'll have another look. 3. Hi Sue, I have submitted the Wellington article to the List-but understandably this has not been put out as yet (the List Ad Min has more important things to concentrate on at the moment). However I notice that in the 1875 Conditional Land Purchases in the area for July(in same newspaper as the article) - M.WALKER - Parish of Boduldura - 40 acres. Any relation? 3. Viv, After I replied to your first posting I searched on google for Euroka and came up with the following, Parks and Wildlife may be able to give you some of the history of the place - www.npws.nsw.gov.au/parks/metro/bluemt/bmstayEuroka, near Glenbrook (currently closed for rehabilitation following the 2002 bushfires). This grassy area near the beautiful Nepean River gorge is well known for its population of eastern grey kangaroos and wallabies. You won’t need your fuel stove here: firewood and fireplaces are provided. There are also composting toilets and picnic tables, but there’s no drinking water so bring plenty with you. Unless you have an annual pass, you’ll need to buy a $6 vehicle day pass for each day your car is in the park. You’ll also need to pay camping fees: $5 (adults) and $3 (children) per day. Bookings are essential two weeks in advance – email the park office or phone 02 4588 5247. Joy

    3. Dear Penny You may have already had some replies but my computer has been in for repairs so I have only just found your email regarding Newspapers in the Boorowa area. The Burrowa News ran from 1873-1951 - outside your time frame. I have been to the State Library to look up obits in this paper and found that the earliest ones (1873 +) did not have any obituaries - these only appeared in later editions. The Yass Courier is online at www.webone.com.au/~sgrieves I think from 1856. There is also a book written about the Burrowa area - "Burrowa-Over 100 hundred Years of White Settlement" which lists the newspapers of the time. Sorry I don't remember the author or have a copy. I borrowed it from the library. You can also do a search on the State Library site for Newspapers. Hope this is some help.
