I am researching the "Trainor" family. John Trainor ran the Main Street Store and after his death was run by his son John Trainor until his death in 1940. J M Smith elected Councillor of Urana Shire, December 5th 1931, was a witness on the death certificates of both Francis Trainor (1938) and John (1940). John Trainor was the Secretary of the Urana Soldiers' Memorial Hall and his name is on the foundation stone laid 1924. All of this information I have read in the "History" of the Urana Shire by Bayley. I am desperate of any photos that may exist of William Street, Urana in this period, or indeed any information on Urana. Judy
Hello all I am looking for information about the Guihen family from Shoalhaven area Michael Guihen born 1884 parents Patrick and Mary Michael guihen married Catherine McCormick 1925 last known address, was Griffith Can anyone help regards Joan
Hello Ian and Glad I can't help with H V Beresford, but one of my family Jacob Gehrig, was also killed at the Hume Weir, he and two others, George Pearce and William wakeford, from an explosion on the 25 Oct 1921. There is a rather graphic description of the accident in the Albury Banner dated Fri 28 Oct 1921. It may be well worth your while trying that avenue for the 1927 accident Mentioned within the article is Frederick Davis Beresford, an employee of the works stated ....... Greetings listers resending my research interests I am the 2x great grandson of Richard Chant b 1858 at Mittigong NSW and 3x great grandson of his brother Luke Chant b 1844 in England. They were the sons of 3x and 4x great grandparents James Chant and Mary Bunter James and Mary arrived in 1849 on the "Sea" following Mary's brother Richard Bunter who arrived some months earlier on the "Una". They settled in the Sutton Forrest area, Jellore and Camden. Two years later another Brother William Bunter arrived in the area. The Chant and Bunter families lived in Albury, Dubbo, Goulborn, Mittigong, Lavington, Black Range, Hanging Rock, Germanton now Holbrook and many other areas. All Bunter families found worldwide appear related and many Chant families appear connected as well. I would welcome any snippets of info for Bunter or Chant families. A John Miller also arrived on the same ship and descend's from the Bunter's. Seeking this family as well. Most likely in the Sutton Forest area at least for a shorttime. regards Michael Cheeseman --- Outgoing mail is certified Virus Free. Checked by AVG anti-virus system (http://www.grisoft.com). G'Day to all the List members. With many thanks to both Dawn and Helen, for their guidance, we'll post our interests once again, on this most quiet of lists. H. V. BERESFORD took a job as construction engineer on the HUME WEIR, c: 1925, and by 1927, he had died there. I'm appealing to anyone reading this posting that may have information about this man please. He was in BOOROWA, N.S.W. prior to his venture onto the construction site. Does anyone know if there are such records kept, as the personnel roll of workers that constructed the HUME WEIR etc. This information may include accidental deaths as well as other means. Kind Regards, Ian & Glad, "Genealogy-Where you confuse the dead and irritate the living".
Interested in Richard O'BRIEN and Annie (Mary) GREEN married 11/4/1869 at Kings Plains. + all above around the Neville area. Ann
Hi Ian, Simple! His place of death & burial will be on his death certificate. You can order on line through the registry quoting the Reference No. or use a transcription agent. Once you have that, there is no more guess work! G'Day to all List members, I'm a newbie to this list, and would like to introduce myself. I'm Ian McCULLOCH, and I'm on this list specifically to find out more about a deceased person, who was married into my ancestral family. He was Herbert V. BERESFORD, and he died at the Hume Weir, Albury in 1927. This as much as I have, apart from the numbers, 17 & 10280, which index his death, in Deaths Between The Wars. I would like to know where he was buried and so, I consult this List in search of SKS who may be able assist with burial records etc. He may not have been buried in Albury, and so as he died there, that's my starting point. T.I.A. Kind Regards, Ian "Genealogy-Where you confuse the dead and irritate the living".

Dear Diana and All, This list does not cover Orange as there is a specific Orange-Bathurst list at Rootsweb, although it does not follow the conventional Rootsweb naming pattern and is NSW-ORANGEBATHURST (ie does not have an AUS in front of it) Linda List-admin AUS-NSW-CENTRAL At 02:51 PM 17/02/03 +0000, you wrote: >Hello Everyone, >I am researching Roderick O'BEIRNEs from Orange.....am I on the correct >List, please. > >Regards, >Diana
