Hi List Is this town in our area? If so, can SKS tell me if there is a transcription done of Narrandera cemetery. I am still following up my family connection with John McCaughey who died on 20 June 1928. My great great aunt, who I think married him at some stage, did not seem to get a look in at the family funeral. I am intrigued to know if she got a mention on the headstone. He is buried in the Presbyterian portion beside his brother Sir Samuel McCaughey. Thanks Jill

Hi Everyone, I am wondering if anyone has any information on the Keegan family who travelled around NSW in the mid 1800's, father John Walter Keegan was a bridge builder and he had children in Wyalong,Barmedam, Gundagai and Parkes. Could there be any relatives of this family still living there? Hope to hear from somebody soon Fiona from Queensland PS Thankyou Linda for steering me to the correct mailing list, much appreciated.
I've been getting an increased volume of messages from all over in thelast dayor two - still nothing like normal, mind you. And AOL has started bouncing messages again after about 36 hrs or being able to contact my folks in the US who use that as their ISP. Hopwe it is not the start of another duluge of spam and ensuing meltdown! Hi Dawn and other Bigpond users Anyone with a Bigpond email address and who is on a list that generates a fair bit of mail, or if your on lots of lists, will probably find, as I unfortunately have, that you'll automatically be unsubbed by Rootsweb because Tesltra is still having trouble with delayed emails and our boxes are full! Fingers crossed they'll get it sorted soon. Cheers From a Bigpond user who has been unsubbed from nearly all lists except this one - hopefully it's not next :( Naida
This is the first contact I have had in over a week, I am on 5 mailing lists, and have not had anything from the other four for the same length of time. God help me if they all come through at the same time. I think the main problem is Telstra Dawn Geddes
Hi Everyone, I have been asked by a few if this list is one of the ones at affected at Rootsweb (which has a server down, and no mail going through that server). It doesn't appear to be one of the affected ones - just everyone is a little quiet. If anyone is on another list that has suddenly gone quiet, it MAY be one of the affected ones, but this one is not. Those ones were supposed to be back on line "late Wednesday" USA time. Cheers Linda

Hi Lorraine, Having a look at my records, there is a Robert Smith buried not in the Cobar cemetery but out at Cambelego Cemetery , it is east of Cobar on the road to Dubbo. It is dated the death as 09/06/1937 aged 86 years, in the Uniting Section but it hasn't got a headstone. In the Old Church of England at Cobar there is a burial for McGUINNESS, SARAH JANE, Death 14/03/1967 Aged 82.Could these be the the family that you looking for? cheers chriss ----- Original Message ----- From: "Chris & Lorraine" <clmcd@integritynet.com.au> To: <AUS-NSW-CENTRAL-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Saturday, September 20, 2003 7:29 PM Subject: [NSW-C] Fw: Posting Interests > > ----- Original Message ----- > From: Chris & Lorraine > To: Central List > Sent: Sunday, September 14, 2003 10:00 AM > Subject: Re: Posting Interests > > > Dear List > > I am also re posting my interests: > > Robert SMITH married Mary Ann DAVIS (nee WATERS) at Boorowa. Dear Clare, Have just sent an email to Una asking for more info on the Myers and then came across your email! I feel pretty sure we are on the same family. My connection is with Alexander Myers, son of Jacob and Ann Clegg. (and possibly brother of Lewis-Louis) . Alexander married Mary Ryan, daughter of Brigid Hennessy and Michael Ryan. The Hennessys & Ryans are my main family of research. I know that Alex had a cordial factory with his brother Abraham in Queanbeyan around the 1870's but that is probably the extent of my knowledge on this family. I have the following on Jacob: - Apparently he was also married twice, First to Caroline Thomas (no children?) and then to Ann Clegg. He was a House servant, convicted Old Bailey 19 May 1825, pickpocket. Transportation for life, arrived Sydney, Sept 1826 on "Marquis of Huntly". 5ft 4.5in tall, ruddy freckled complexion, dark brown hair, black eyes, could read.Granted T/L 1837 for Liverpool, then Campbelltown in April 1840. Grocer in Liverpool 1839>Yass in 1840's Hotel keeper , Commercial Hotel Castlereagh & King St Sydney, 27 May 1854. " Would love to know what you have on the family, Cheers Lorraine ----- Original Message ----- From: "Clare Stapleton Concord" <> To: <AUS-NSW-CENTRAL-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Monday, September 22, 2003 2:05 AM Subject: [NSW-C] Re: From "Parkes-100 years of Local Government" > Thanks so much for your help with Lewis Myers in Parkes. Hi all, I'm hoping that someone may have a brilliant idea to help me with a problem I have. My Gt Grandmother, Elizabeth Fitzpatrick, had a sister Margaret Jeanette Fitzpatrick, who was born 17 December 1877 at Carcoar. I have not been able to find anything more about her. A Margaret Fitzpatrick died on 27 January 1896. The only details I have on this person are from a probate extract, which says: "FITZPATRICK MARGARET late of near Oberon Spinster 30 July 1926. On this date, the Public Trustee elected to administer the estate of theabove-named deceased. Intestate died on 27 January 1896. Estate sworn at 37.10.0. Election filed 31 July 1926." There is only one Margaret Fitzpatrick listed in the BDMs as dying in 1896. I have her death certificate, she died in May 1896 in Bathurst, and was married with children. I have done various searches in the BDM index to no avail. I think that this could be my missing Margaret, as some of her younger brothers and sisters were raised by an aunt & uncle in the Oberon area (Aunt's name was Anne Artery, nee Kelly, uncle was William Artery), and at least two of her brothers, Robert Alexander (at Essington) and John Alfred, stayed in that area. Does anyone have any bright ideas how I can find out more information on this Margaret who died 27 January 1896? As the extract gives her place of residence as "near Oberon", she could have been buried anywhere. Any suggestions gratefully accepted. Penny
