    3. Dear Marie Thank you for replying to my post. My direct ancestor was a James Howarth transported to Van Dieman's Land as a convict in 1822 on the "Phoenix" (1). His grand-son was George Howarth who died at Junee in 1911. George was the brother of my grand-mother Emma Howarth. I have several Clark connections but no Henry Clarke and no Bellamy connections that I can see. I cannot identify Benjamin Howarth as being one of my family. My Howarth's came from Rossendale, Lancaster, Lancashire, England. There are a lot of Howarths from that area of England. 3. Dear Marg, Thank you for answering my post. My George Howarth is the brother of my great-grandmother Emma Howarth, and son of Mary Ann O'Brien and John James Howarth. George died at Junee 5 August, 1911. His death certificate states he died in the Junee Hospital (are there records anywhere!!!??) and is buried in the General Cemetery, Junee. The rest of the family lived in the Colac area of Victoria. 3. Dear Carl I have looked on the Telstra white pages and on various maps of NSW - old and new,and have found one mention of a Gum Creek, with a post code of 2711 and found it written on a map, west of Wagga, but it is only a dot and a long way from any large town. I did not know where to go from here and I thought maybe it could have been just an area that had previous history and one of our listers knew of it and/or were living there. Also there may be other small Gum Creeks in NSW. If you can help, I would appreciate it.
