    3. Hi John, Looking at the map, Hill End is almost in a no-man's land, in between the Orange-Bathurst (which may claim it) list and the Pilliga list (which I don't think does - but may be able to help). Just a little bit outside the Central list. But someone may have seen your message and be able to help you. Linda List-admin AUS-NSW-CENTRAL. > > Firstly, Is Hill End in your area?

    3. Ken, A handy site that you will find helpful in your researching is http://www.bdm.nsw.gov.au It's a searchable database of Births Deaths and Marriages in NSW. When you post an inquiry to the list, it's a good idea to put the names you're asking about in the subject box at the top, which helps to catch the eye of anyone else with similar interests or the ability to help you find what your looking for. It also gives you the ability to see when you have replies to an inquiry. 1. [NSW-C] RE SUBMIT - CIVILIAN FARM LEARNERS
    2. susan haslett
    3. I posted this message last week but haven’t seen it listed yet so am re-posting. Many thanks for the replies on "civilian farm learners". As suggested, it might be if some help to mention some more details. He was Frederick George Probets, known as Fred ( and later known also as Rex). He sailed from London on 24th May 1923 on SS Ballarat, arriving in Sydney 23rd July 1923. The Master of the ship was A.H.Highett and the agent was Gilchrest, Watt and Sanderson. He was from Devon where he had been working on farms from the age of 14. He returned to England late 1931, after spending the intervening years in NSW. Unfortunately I don’t know just where or how long in any one place. I do know that when he returned to Australia in 1949 with a wife and 5 children he already had a job lined up at Breakfast Creek station, NSW where the manager/owner was someone he’d worked for before. Thanks for your ideas, Sue. --------------------------------- Yahoo! Digital How To- Get the best out of your PC!

    1. [NSW-C] Looking for MELAN info at Stockton Cemetery
    2. Bob & Carolyn Hart
    3. Hi there I have a relative by the name of John Charles MELAN who is buried at Stockton Cemetery (ref S/ce/g/33). I was wondering if anyone happened to be at the cemetery, could they have a look (in case there is a headstone) and get some information for me please. He died in 1920 (detailed dod not known) and was born in 1833 in Sweden. Also, if it wasn't an imposition, perhaps there was a reference made to him and/or his family in the local newspaper. His wife was Louisa Mary (nee Fernyhough). Any info on this family would be appreciated. Carolyn
