    3. Hi Chris, St Mary's Cathedral Archives may be able to help identify the church. http://www.sydneycatholic.org/about/archives.shtml Your comment about being married in the Vestry of the Church is quite interesting - it was a common practice when one party was not Catholic for the marriage to take place "out the back". The nearest church I was able to find was St Columba's at Yeoval, which is about 60km from Parkes; perhaps the priest was a travelling circuit-priest and the marriage was registered at Parkes but took place elsewhere? 3. The comment about marrying in the vestry definitely indicates that one party was not RC At that time - and later - that was the rule, no marrying in the church itself unless both parties were RC -----Original Message----- From: symonds3 Sent: Wednesday, October 03, 2012 11:04 AM To: [email protected] Subject: Re: [AUS-NSW] Catholic Church Registers Hi Chris, St Mary's Cathedral Archives may be able to help identify the church. http://www.sydneycatholic.org/about/archives.shtml Your comment about being married in the Vestry of the Church is quite interesting - it was a common practice when one party was not Catholic for the marriage to take place "out the back".
