Hi Peter I have sent you a couple of records, I am not sure that they are your Sarah Lynchey. There are a few records that state that this Sarah Lynchey came out on the ship, Mary, Mary 111 and the Mary 5 all appear to be the same lady who arrived 1835 and her trial 8 Nov 1833 at Castle Rushen Isle of Man. The other file was Thomas Lynchey who I think is the son and there is a mention of a James on the file. I have found some hints as to the names of these two children, a girl possibly Sarah, aged probably 10 years but no older than 12 years (the maximum age the British Government allowed for girls to accompany a convict mother), and a boy possibly James, aged no more than 8 years (the maximum for boys). Ten years of trying on RootsWebb Convict Lists has brought not one response. This is long enough ago for origins to be fuzzy, let alone the "forgetting" that arose from the fear of the convict stain which prevailed until WW II. Any response will be much appreciated.
