Hi Patsy I can not find any info for Edward Bates married to an Ann Lewis, but there are two trees on Ancestry as follow Edward Bates born 1860 Patrick's Plain NSW and died 1904 in Goulburn NSW married a Grace E Lewis 1894 in Moruya, NSW His parents are Alexander Bates & Frances Caplear. Edward BATES married Ann LAVIS in Moruya NSW in 1894 - this morning I received a copy of their marriages from NSW and I am really peeved because Edward DID NOT put his parents names down nor his place of birth nor his age. He was married in St Johns church in Moruya and the marriage was registered in Sydney which threw me somewhat because I 'assumed' that that was where they married. However I now have to rethink this and he perhaps lived and worked in Moruya and perhaps his family were there as well.
