Hi Listers I'm doing research about the RAAF Aerodrome that was located in Mt Druitt. It later became a racing car circuit and is now a sporting reserve. I just wondered if anybody has any connection or memories. The base was home in the 1940's to : * No. 13 Signals Unit RAAF * No. 1 Repair and Salvage Unit RAAF * No. 2 Repair and Salvage Unit RAAF (renamed to No. 2 Repair and Servicing Unit RAAF) * No. 6 Repair and Salvage Unit RAAF * No. 11 Repair and Salvage Unit RAAF * No. 14 Repair and Salvage Unit RAAF * No. 18 Repair and Salvage Unit RAAF Thanks for your time. Yours Roy Hurlstone
Hi Roy We have been researching the aerodrome for quite a while now as we intend adding it to our Mount Druitt Education Kit. Also a few years back we had a number of enquiries from various people. We also have all of Fred Cowpe and the Unit Adjutant of No. 11 Repair and Servicing Unit, Flight Lieutenant Harold Stephenson drafted 1980. I am also tracing and documenting all of the WW2 aircraft crashes in our area and am making good progress. Good luck with your project. Hazel
