    1. [AUS-NSW] Family History Change in Policy for Photocopies
    2. Jill Glover
    3. Hi everyone, Have you come across this info at all?? I thought I'd send it on..it came via another mailing list.. Cheers, Jill >>>>>> Hello List, As noted in Dick Eastman's Online Genealogy Newsletter today there is a change in the policy for patrons requesting copies from the Family History Library in Salt Lake City, Utah. This is an amazing FREE service that is now much better. The following is copied from the FamilySearch website: All requests for information copied from films, book pages, CDs, marriage, death or birth certificates, wills and/or deeds, etc. will be copied in digital format and emailed to patrons in a zipped PDF or JPG file format. There is no charge for this service if we are able to email to information to patrons. If a patron does not have an email address, we can mail the information to the patron using the US Postal Service. However, as much as possible, we will rely on emailing all requests for information through the internet. If patrons do not own a computer or do not have an email address, they can request to have the information emailed to their local Family History Center, where they can print the information at the center. Patrons should request copies by emailing their request to [email protected] . All requests MUST include the following information which is readily availabe if you locate someone in one of the indexed records: . Film or Fiche number . Item number . Name of Individual(s) referred to in the record . Title of the record . Name of parents, spouse, grantor, grantee, etc. . Event type (Birth, Death or Marriage) . Complete event date and place . Event place (county, parish, township, etc.) . Volume or page number . Registration or Certificate Number . Any other information that will help us locate your record. In addition, for those who may not be aware, when searching for records at familysearch.org there is a link to connect with the library, through the web, for a live chat. Obviously you will need to adjust for your time zone. <<<<<<

    1. [AUS-NSW] Clarence George FRY died 11 February 1932

    3. I am hitting BIG brick walls trying to trace an Ancestor Clarence George FRY was born 30 September 1891, at Lobethal (South Australia) the fifth child of Isaac and Angelina Fry (nee Keats) On the Family Burial Plot in Payneham (South Australia) his death is recorded 11 February 1932 in Sydney (doesn't really help much, as no suburb is mentioned) Clarence George Fry was aged 40 years. I understand just because his name is on the headstone, does not mean he is actually buried there I found his death registered (141/1932) on NSW BDM Historical Index I have downloaded his WW1 Army records, and he was single when he enlisted. There is a letter included in this dossier, with regard to returned medals MRS GLADYS R FRY wrote to the Officer in Charge of Base Records at Victoria Barracks, Melbourne, stating that these returned medals could be forwarded to her c/o Colonel A Moon. CMG, OBE 34 Cranbrook Road, Rose Bay NSW. This letter was dated September 1932, seven months after Clarence George Fry died. I have searched SA Marriage Records and the NSW online records but I can not find a marriage registered with this man as the groom. Any suggestions as to where I should now be looking Regards Chris Pycroft (nee GWYNNE) Port Augusta, Sth Aust

    3. Chris, I put " clarence george fry" including the inverted commas into a Trove newspaper search and found an obituary from The Advertiser of 19 February 1932 page 22. He married Miss Ray Fox in the US. She was an Adelaide Violinist and Clarence was her accompanist on tours of Australia, NZ and the US. Another notice in the SMH 13 Feb 1932 has his cremation at Rookwood on that day. There are other entries come up in Trove that fill in gaps in your knowledge. Good luck David Central Coast NSW

    3. Could the wife have been a war bride. Perhaps he married in England? Just a thought.
