William SCHOFIELD snr. emigrated to Australia sometime in 1920 with his son William jnr. age about 9 years. His second wife, name not known and his son by this wife David. The ship was the Orsova. I have checked passenger lists on Ancestry, National Archives of Australia and have Googled for any other data bases to no avail! Listers, Two ladies of this name were born in NSW in 1851 1. Sarah A born to parents of George HOWELL who married Catherine CARROLL 1841 Lower Hawksesbury 2. Sarah A born to parents of Walter HOWELL who married Mary CROSS 1831 Richmond Sarah No. 1 married Isaac BEWLEY 1871 Scone and died 1936 Murrurundi. Several trees on Ancestry have this Sarah wrongly attributed ( I think) to parents of Walter and Mary and have Sarah dying in either Canley Vale Sydney in 1944 or Vale USA in 1944 Sarah No. 2 probably married Donald McRae 1869 Young, NSW. Sarah's family were in the Young, Grenfell area by 1869. One child at least possibly born to this marriage Alexander born 1870 Sydney and may have died 1877 registered East Maitland Are there any McCRAE, HOWELL, CROSS, BRYANT researchers out there who can shed any light on Sarah Ann HOWELL born 1851 Meadow Flat and probably died at Young in 1914. There is no matching headstone at Young but a death may have been registered there and the burial in a neighbouring settlement. No probate or Trove entries that I could find. David Central Coast NSW
