    3. Lex, no guarantees that this is the same person, but the 1850 California census for Weaverville in El Dorado County (gold mining district) lists William Morgan age 21 born in North Carolina as a gold miner on 3 october 1850. Because of his age, he would not have been listed individually in the 1840 census so there is almost no way to know his history before 1850. regret that I could not find anything further.... I believe he is probably ISAAC MORGAN who died in TUMUT NSW 1886 as a gold miner who was said to have been born in AMERICA. The Coroner put his age as between 60 and 70 years. 3. Hi Elain, Thanks for your quick response. You may have given us some very important information. I an sending a CC to my DNA match in North Carolina to see if he can establish a link to Australia. He, Clifton Roger MORGAN and his male cousin shows a match to ne and my nephew through the male line and Victoria Klehn is the administrator of my DNA group. Roger, Can you fit William MORGAN into the male line of yourself or your cousin. FINGERS CROSSED!!! If you can give nme his parent;s names I can track him down in NSW. Cheers, Lex.
