Hello Listers As many new people are joining lists all the time I put this message up every now and then with apologies to those who have seen it before Balmain Catholic cemetery was in use from 1868 to 1906 and was located in todays suburb of Leichhardt, it has been built over and there are no physical traces that a cemetery ever existed there and worst of all the burial register has been lost. For many years now I have been slowly re-creating the lost burial register and would very much like to hear from anyone who knows of a burial there or who has any information about this old cemetery To date I have discovered about 700 proven burials and have a target of 1000 burials by this time next year I will also be happy to help anyone who has queries about either of the two cemeteries which were generally known as Balmain cemetery Fingers crossed Patrick Callaghan
