In 1906 when Sarah Jane's grand niece Louisa SYLVESTER (married a MARTIN) and grand nephew T J SYLVESTER (married a BURGESS) had a double wedding the party included the following LYNCHs were involved: Train bearers: "little Mollie Lynch" Groomsmen: R. Lynch & M. Lynch Coincidence or connection? Regards Ian Jordan 2009/9/2 Joan Birtles <joanbirtles@bigpond.com>: > Hi Jenelle > > Many thanks, yes I do have Deborah's death record. Hi Ian I wish I could say I knew who my grandfather was named after as far as the SYLVESTER name goes. I do know for sure that Edgar Julius was named after his mother's [Deborah Jane] half brother Edgar Julius who died as a baby. As my grandfather Edgar Julius Sylvester Lynch was illeg. I believe Sylvester to be either the christian name or surname of his father but have not been able to find any trace of him. None of the names you have mentioned are known to me. Probably just a coincidence, worse luck! I'd love to find out more about my Lynch family. I think I have mentioned my John Lynch b 1827 to Patrick Lynch came from Kilrush Co. Clare before joining the European Infantry and leaving for Madras in 1848. I would be interested to hear where your Lynch's came from. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Ian Jordan" <paynescrossing@gmail.com> > Hi Joan > > Edgar Julius SYLVESTER LYNCH ??? > > Do you know why he was given the name SYLVESTER? > > Hmmm.... > > I have a John LYNCH who was the second husband of Sarah Jane > PENDERGAST m. 1825 at Windsor NSW; both lived and died at Wollombi, > NSW, John in 1852. > > In 1906 when Sarah Jane's grand niece Louisa SYLVESTER (married a > MARTIN) and grand nephew T J SYLVESTER (married a BURGESS) had a > double wedding the party included the following LYNCHs were involved: > > Train bearers: "little Mollie Lynch" > Groomsmen: R.
