Hi Trish The list as usual is so helpful with ideas which I was hoping for, and no I never thought of Shipping Gazettes. I have seen the deaths for the John Lynch's in Victoria for this time period as there is a family of Lynch's who I believe to be related but there again I can't prove it. I've also had a search of the deaths in NSW for all the John Lynch's during the time frame. I had thought perhaps he and his wife split up but she is shown as a widow on her 2nd marriage record. John's father's name was Patrick Lynch, no mother's name know. John was born in Kilrush, Co Clare in June 1827 by his army record in the 2nd European Light Infantry in Madras. His marriage record in India to Paulina only showed his father's name and I've searched for years trying to find a mother's name but LYNCH in Co Clare is like Smith :-} I certainly have a puzzle with John & his parents and siblings which I've also searched in Cty Clare for years. Thanks again for your help and thanks for the sites. Joan in NSW. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Trev Symonds" <psym8950@bigpond.net.au> > Hi Joan, > Have you searched through the Shipping Gazettes?
