    3. Thanks for that Trish The info that I have comes from the book "Temora Yesterday and Today" but it could be a misprint It says that she died at "Wattle Farm" Broken Dam at the age of 57yrs sep 1902??? Cheers Steve -----Original Message----- From: aus-nsw-bounces@rootsweb.com [mailto:aus-nsw-bounces@rootsweb.com] On Behalf Of Trev Symonds Sent: Wednesday, 18 November 2009 1:35 PM To: aus-nsw@rootsweb.com Subject: Re: [AUS-NSW] McCawley Hi again Steve, There is no death registered for Ellen McCAWLEY/McCAULEY in 1902. Perhaps the information you have on a death in 1902 was a typing error or incorrectly read as 1902 instead of 1922 if the writing was poor? The NSW BDMs show the following information - Marriages 1912 - McCawley, Ellen married to William J. Sanderson, Temora, 7530/1912 Deaths - Sanderson, Ellen (-McCauley) 74 years; Byron Bay; 4421/1922 also - Sanderson, Ellen, 74 years; Murwillumbah; 4290/1922 also, possible death for William in 1927 - Sanderson, William, son of John/Anne, Temora, 19458/1927 Marriage of daughter Ellen McCAWLEY to William THOMPSON Cootamundra-NSW, 1900 (3648/1900) Two possible deaths for her on NSW BDMs - Ellen Thompson, dtr of Thomas/Ellen, Chatswood (32450/1962) Ellen Thompson, dtr of Thomas/Ellen, Sydney (9964/1931) Temora Cemetery has been transcribed by the Heraldry & Genealogy Society of Canberra, they may have more information on the family for you - http://hagsoc.org.au/main/index.php http://www.australiancemeteries.com/nsw/temora/temoraold.htm Cheers Trish Nowra NSW > I had most of that but I am not so confident re the Remarriage of Ellen as > she is supposed to have died in 1902 > They did have a daughter called Ellen but she is supposed to have married > William Thompson > Steve ------------------------------- To unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to AUS-NSW-request@rootsweb.com with the word 'unsubscribe' without the quotes in the subject and the body of the message

    3. Hi Steve, It sounds like a bit of a puzzle, doesn't it? There is a death for Helen McCawley at Temora in 1901, its the closest connection I could find. If Ellen died as Ellen SANDERSON, I wonder what she was doing in Byron Bay (surfing holiday?). There are some mistakes in the NSW indexes regarding place names, but I didn't see one for Temora/Byron Bay - http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~nswsdps/dps/nswbdmer.htm You may need to invest in a certificate or two to sort her out. You can use a transcription agent in NSW (much cheaper) and pay for just the fields you want, instead of a complete certificate. If you only want to confirm you have the correct person perhaps the death certificate for Ellen SANDERSON, asking just for the names of her children, would answer the question? http://www.transcriptions.com.au/ http://www.joymurrin.com.au/ Temora Family History Group might be able to clarify the information that is published in the book - Neil Martin, PO Box 181, Temora NSW 2666 temorafamilyhistory@bigpond.com Wattle Farm seems to still be in existence, if its the same one you mentioned in your email, no idea if they have records - http://www.fatcow.com.au/c/Wattle-Farm Cheers Trish Nowra NSW > The info that I have comes from the book "Temora Yesterday and Today" but > it > could be a misprint > It says that she died at "Wattle Farm" Broken Dam at the age of 57yrs sep > 1902??? > Steve
