    3. Hi Ruth, On the WW2 Nominal Roll - Stanley John KITTO, Royal Australian Navy, Service No PA4265, Born 19 May 1926 Riverton SA, enlisted 13 July 1943, Home port-Adelaide, next-of-kin Mary Kitto, discharged 29 March 1946, Rank O/Sea, Posting at Discharge HMAS Torrens. His full records are online for searching at the National Archives. These show his next-of-kin is his mother Mary Elizabeth Kitto, (not Alice Eleanor as you have) living at 140 Cornish Street at Broken Hill. The death indexes show him as both Eric Caughey and Stanley John Caughey with parents Norman Lindsay/Alice Elenor. On the NSW Marriage Index, there is a marriage between Eric CAUGHEY and Lois Aileen ROLLISON, at Broken Hill, in 1946 (cert no 18050/1946). There are a couple of KITTO marriages in Broken Hill, that may be related - 1908 - Edward M.T. KITTO to Inva V. GIBSON 1923 - Lillias C KITTO to Harold E HENDERSON 1924 - Stanley KITTO to Kathleen HEAD 1950 - Mary Elizabeth KITTO to Joseph MUSGAT (no Musgat's listed in index, could be Muscat?) 1950 - Lois Ajken KITTO to Ronald Albert RICHARDS - I assume this is Stanley's widow remarrying NSW Divorce Index - Edward Morris Taylor KITTO and Ina Vida KITTO, 1918, Number 0918 The newspapers online have a number of mentions for the KITTO name in Broken Hill. KITTO family tree online with mention of Stanley John, Norman Lindsay and Alice Eleanor - http://members.iinet.net.au/~kjstew/kitEDWARD.htm Cheers Trish Nowra NSW > I'm looking for information of a Stanley John KITTO . d. 02/04/1948 Broken > Hill. > Parents Norman Lindsay and Alice Eleanor > I don't really know anything else other than he was originally known as > Eric > Caughey b.1926 Riverton South Australia. > Ruth Caughey.

    3. Wow Thanks heaps Trish and Marg I thought I had tried everything. I'd seen the Kitto family tree online, but couldn't see the connection from Stanley to the family. I believe he was adopted so I had no idea where to start looking. I found him accidently on the NSW bdm search so I was stoked to have his other name. I didn't imagine looking for a service record. There's heaps for me to go through and sort out now. Thank you both so much for the help, I am very grateful. Very much appreciated Ruth. -----Original Message----- From: aus-nsw-bounces@rootsweb.com [mailto:aus-nsw-bounces@rootsweb.com] On Behalf Of Trev Symonds Sent: Wednesday, 11 November 2009 5:02 PM To: aus-nsw@rootsweb.com Subject: Re: [AUS-NSW] Stanley John KITTO Hi Ruth, On the WW2 Nominal Roll - Stanley John KITTO, Royal Australian Navy, Service No PA4265, Born 19 May 1926 Riverton SA, enlisted 13 July 1943, Home port-Adelaide, next-of-kin Mary Kitto, discharged 29 March 1946, Rank O/Sea, Posting at Discharge HMAS Torrens.
