Hi folks, Thanks for the reply to my email - in my family researching experience I've had some interesting connections through looking at the local history for the period of my family connections with a town or region. While chasing up my Oxenbridge connections back to Sussex I noticed one of the ancestors was a member of parliament but lost his seat - looking further I found that he was one of the parliamentarians whose actions led to the execution of Charles 1st. Hello Ainslie, Off topic, I know, but I also have a connection to the execution of Charles 1st. One of the three officers in Oliver Cromwell's army to sign the death warrant was Lieutant Colonel Robert PHAYRE (b. 1629). We have no proof but but it seems that the PHAIR family (and various other spellings) is descended from him. Another interesting tid-bit!
