Hello, Chatswood is a northern suburb of Sydney on the railway line north to Hornsby. I am interested in the cemetery under St Pius X school, which is at Chatswood. Have a little info on it .. not a great deal yet though. Chatswood is now a "monster" place, beiing very busy/crowded and full of 'skyscrapers' ... but when I was young, and a boy, there was none of that there then at all. It has all arrived since. The place is said to have been a "wood" once; and named after a local politican's wife who was very talkative and cally Chatty. So originally it was Chatty's wood, I suppose. No idea how true all that is, but it is a well circulated tale. It also once had a brickworks I understand, right in the centre of it somewhere. That I have been trying (unsuccessfully) to track down, because I collect info on old bricks and stuff. I have quite a few memories of Chatswood still. It now stands out as big "blob" on the skyline near Sydney, and you can see it from far far away. I preferred it before it got so over-developed.
