In early December last year I attended the book launch of the above book written by Katherine McKenzie. The book was written from a series of interviews with past and present residents of Putty about growing up, logging, grazing cattle, educating children and choosing to live at Putty. It covers the stories (tales) of families and other items e.g. Putty School, Putty Road, Bushfires and many more for the period 1930 to 2014. Some of the families that appear in the book are Merrick, Jackson, Martin, Cobcroft, Ellis, Ducros, Medhurst, Garland, McDonald, Layock et al. The cost of the book is $30 and is available from the Singleton Visitor Information Centre Phone 1800 449 888 Regards Allan
